Fixing light dents or scratches
Removing dents can be more involved, but anyone with an iron and an old tea towel should be able to deal with most things. So long as the wood fibres aren’t broken, you can usually coax it back to shape.
What you’ll need:
A steam iron
A cup water
An old tea towel - this will be put between the wood and the iron, so there’s likely to be some transfer of the wax/oil finish
Step 1
Clean the area in and around the dent
Dampen a portion of the tea towel large enough to cover the dent area
Set your iron to its hottest setting and turn on the steam function
Step 2
Dampen the dented area with water, and let it soak in for a moment
Place the damp portion of the tea towel over the dented area
Then lightly press the iron on top of that
